" Christian Cinema is a great website! I especially enjoy the free shipping on purchases over $75 as I usually spend at least that much. I'm studying to be a minister and the videos about people in the Bible are really helping me a lot! "

Beyond the Chariots at the Singapore Expo
Chariots of Fire hero, Eric Liddell, runs his greatest race in war-torn China
Rich Swingle (Beyond the Mask, Alone Yet Not Alone, Providence) has performed in 29 nations so far. This performance of his one-man play Beyond the Chariots was filmed live at the Singapore Expo for about 5,600 people on the heels of the Youth Olympics.
The four-time Academy Award-winning film Chariots Of Fire tells how Eric Liddell refused to run the 100 meters in the 1924 Paris Olympics because a qualifying heat was held on a Sunday. Instead he ran the 400 meters, a race in which he wasn't expected to place. He finished it five meters ahead of the favorite, winning the gold and breaking the world record.
Beyond the Chariots picks up where the film left off: Leaving fame and fortune behind, Eric serves the people of China as a missionary, until he is imprisoned in a Japanese internment camp during World War II.
This event, which was hosted by Faith Community Baptist Church, was closed by Rev. Eugene Seow with rousing comments on themes from the play and Eric Liddell's life.

Eric Liddell is one of my heroes. Rich Swingle is also one of my heroes. When Rich Swingle does a one man play dealing with the life of Eric Liddell, you can bet your sweep bippie (or bottom dollar) that I will be among the throng seeking out the best seat in the house. Rich's full range of thespian talent is on display in the show "Beyond the Chariots", a title referring to Liddell's life after the Olympic spotlight shined upon him in the movie "Chariots of Fire." Rich brings to life the story of a Chinese man who hated Liddell and what he represented. The tale, written by Swingle, is not entirely based on fact. He describes this as an amalgam of real life people, truthful stories about various students of Eric's at the college where he taught. These facts are woven together with fiction with excellent story telling techniques to create a compelling and poignant tapestry demonstrating the offensive of love that is deployed by God through his servants like Eric Liddell and Rich Swingle. The number of characters, voices, accents, and languages featured by Swingle leaves one with mouth agape. The memorization of this forty-six minute dialogue would be a daunting task. Coupled with the necessity of keeping the voices and accents consistent and recognizable, the difficulty level allows this performance to be considered remarkable. I felt like I was watching a juggler handle an unbelievable number of objects at the same time. And he pulled this off almost flawlessly and without any prompter waiting in the wings to assist. This is a magnificent production and I can't recommend highly enough that you watch this presentation.
