The Christmas Wife
A widower not wanting to face his first Christmas alone responds to an ad for social introductions.
Afraid to spend Christmas alone in his beautiful mountain retreat, an aging widower decides to hire himself a spouse over the holiday and unexpectedly finds true love in this heart-warming tale based on a true story by Helen Norris. She bids him to not ask about her personal life which harbors a secret that threatens their developing friendship and could ultimately change both their lives. Wonderful performances combine with a witty, lighthearted script to create a leisurely film reminiscent of Hollywood's great classic romances.

My family, and I did not even bother to finish watching this move because it just was too wired!

This movie is boring, depressing and not at all Christian. The so-called "wife" and her husband do a con job on the man looking for companionship during Christmas.
The Christmas Wife - DVD – Richard and Linda D, 09/16/2011
The Christmas Wife, starring Jason Robards and Julie Harris, essentially in one set throughout the bulk of the film, is highly unusual in its entirity. There is essentially no Christian content in this film, but it could be considered family friendly, in its lack of improper content. However, this is a slow moving film, which would relegate it to the 45+ viewer, in our opinion. We, as our two star ratings shows, did not have a high opinion of this film, though you might. Enjoy!

Very sloooow movie. It was hard to stay interested. For being a "Christian Movie," I didn't understand why the main character was seeking companionship in the way he did. I would not recommend this movie.
The Christmas Wife - DVD – Martin J, 12/20/2010
One lesson that I got from this movie was not living in the past but moving on with your life. Movie though was slow moving and was just OK. Not the best Christmas movie I've seen. Movie was clean and appropriate for different age groups but I don't believe would hold the interest of young people.
