A Walk To Remember (Family Edited)
From the best selling novel.
Each spring in the little port town of Beaufort, North Carolina, Landon Carter remembers his senior year at Beaufort High and Jamie Sullivan, the girl who changed his life. Serious and conservative, Jamie (Mandy Moore) was as far from cool as she could possibly be, and didn't care. Landon (Shane West) hung with the in-crowd an aimless, moody, reckless guy who breezed through school on looks and bravado and had no plans, no future and no faith in himself. When a prank goes terribly wrong landing a kid in the hospital, Landon is assigned to tutor a young student on the weekends and participate in the Drama Club's spring play. Clearly in over his head with both assignments, Landon is forced to ask Jamie for help. Soon, against his own expectations and the scorn of his friends, Landon finds himself falling in love with this outwardly plain girl who possesses a passion for life he never imagined possible.

Relates to my life soo much. I used to be teased by these two girls particularly (same family) about my clothing and about it coming from the op shop everyone else just loved me for who I was mostly. Also, I like a guy who I'm pretty certain likes me back and I'm inexperienced as Jamie was with relationships mostly caus I take forever to decode if the guy is right or not, also have a super duper strict dad like Jamie (only he ain't a pastor)

I love this movie I think it's a really nice way to show to the young people that they can really change somebody's life and put it from a bad side to a good side... Totally love the movie

A Hollywood movie... however it is morally better than most of the Hollywood trash that the industry puts out. This is not a perfect movie however it is well done and compelling.

Beaufort, NC is a stunningly beautiful city, with a charming Southern attitude about it (please pardon my personification of the city, but its charm is overwhelming). Landon Carter is a freewheeling spirit, who cares only about himself; while Jamie Sullivan struggles with a life changing illness. That the two should meet is beyond plausible, but they do; with life renewing events following. Enjoy!

As a father of teens, girls and boys who doens't want constant kissing, this is a non-Christian Hollywood love story that adds the world's stereotypes of a church service, preaching and 'moral' dating. It has a Christian dating a non-Christian with happiness and love as reasons to disobey God and the Bible. The music is totally worldly from start to finish - it's simply a hollywood film. The bittersweet ending and forgiveness at the end is sweet, but I won't show it again to my teens. God has a higher standard. I had to pause constantly and say to them, "that's wrong you know", and tell them why. TC

"A Walk to Remember" is such a great movie! We enjoyed this movie so much! We watched it several times. The movie was able to capture most everything that a teenager will face which included; the cost of trying to fit in with "the group," dating and chasity, following your heart and the happiness that follows.
The movie also demonstrates the "pro- active" father figure in this young lady's life and the benefits of this. He embraces the challenges that his daughter faces and stands firm in his beliefs andfaith in God. ABSOLUTELY GREAT MOVIE~ the family edited version!

A Walk To Remember (Family Edited) - DVD – Susan P, 12/01/2009
At the beginning of the film (even though this is family edited) you can easily observe by reading lips and body language what offensive verbiage is being used. The gang-like behaviors, initiation water scene and the music is probably not appropriate for 12 and younger. Once you get past the first 30min. you begin to see how forgiveness and love bind together, forming a tearful ending to this film. The ending is rich in moral values and God's grace.

What a surprisingly touching lovestory for everyone--the transformation of the main characters heart is amazing when he learns what true love really is and how it can change lives.
