Tim Chey, the mind behind Freedom and David & Goliath, has a Christmas film in the works. Focusing on ten true stories of Christmas Eves past, the film will be released in one thousand theaters on November 16, 2016. Filming will begin in November.
Chey said, "The film really puts Christ back into Christmas. Each story tells how people came to Christ in extraordinary ways during Christmas Eve."
One of the ten stories revolves around a Columbian woman who is ordered to kill her husband by Pablo Escobar. But hearing a church sing "Silent Night" one Christmas Eve, she is drawn into the church where she experiences salvation through Jesus Christ.
Chey discovered the story himself as he traveled through thirty countries as part of his Epic Journey film. "We ran into countless incredible stories that took place during Christmas," he said. "I wanted to share these stories during the most wonderful time of the year."
"We're raising P&A (prints and advertising) for the film," added Sarah Greene of RiverRain Studios. "It's our goal to have a wide theatrical release on at least 1,000 screens."
Chey's previous films have reached over fifty-five million homes on Video on Demand (VOD) last week through Time-Warner, Charter, Comcast, iTunes, and other on-demand platforms.
