Chevonne O’Shaughnessy is currently overseeing the production of the next Love Finds You film for UP, Love Finds You In Valentine. Starring Diogo Morgado (Son of God, The Messengers), Michaela McManus (Aquarius, One Tree Hill), Lindsay Wagner (The Paper Chase, The Bionic Woman) and Ed Asner (Up, The Mary Tyler Moore Show), the romantic drama is filming in Millersburg, Ohio.
Based on the popular novel by Irene Brand, the story follows a law student, Kennedy Blaine (Mcmanus), inherits a ranch in the small town of Valentine, Nebraska, after her parents die. She travels to Valentine with the intent of selling the ranch, but is drawn in by the area's beauty and to ranch foreman, Derek Sterling (Morgado). Putting her life in L.A. on hold, she decides to spend some time at her ancestral home and reconnects with her grandfather, Gabriel Morgan (Asner), who she has never met. Soon, Kennedy is harassed by someone who wants her out of Valentine. With Derek and his mother’s (Wagner) assistance, she sets out to discover who is behind the offenses. But when her search reveals painful details about her family and raises questions about Derek's own past, will Kennedy still want to know the truth?
Building upon the popularity of UP's 2014 film Love Finds You In Sugarcreek, the latest installment in the series is produced by George Shamieh and directed by Curtis Grey. O'Shaughnessy and Cindy Bond of Mission Films International are executive producers. Bryar Freed-Golden (Love Finds You in Charm, Love Finds You In Sugarcreek) adapted the screenplay from Brand’s book.
Barbara Fisher, UP’s Senior Vice President of Original Programming, said, "We are thrilled to have our two spectacular leads, Diogo Morgado and Michaela Mcmanus, sharing the screen with beloved actors Lindsay Wagner and Ed Asner."
In West Virginia, Brand has been writing since an early age, publishing her works in historical, religious, and general magazines. Writing church histories, Sunday School curriculum, and more, she has now written forty-three fictional pieces and four non-fiction books. Her first inspirational romance was published in 1984, and she now finds herself among the group of revolving authors who have written on of the sixty Love Finds You novels for Guideposts since 2008.
The second movie in the franchise, Love Finds You In Charm, debuts exclusively on UP on Sunday, June 7 at 7 p.m. EDT. Stay tuned for Love Finds You in Valenetine in 2016!
