In a grassroots movement to encourage spirituality through film, Epiphany Productions today announces that documentary motion picture Journey to Everest will be offered for free to churches in a nationwide premiere on Sunday, July 11th. Journey to Everest chronicles the real-life adventures of six American businessmen who travel to the Himalayas to trek to Everest Base Camp and discover the depths of who they are as Christians along the way. Directed by David Kiern, Journey to Everest is about discovering the adventures God has designed for everyone's life.
A free DVD will be mailed to any church who wishes to participate. Churches may show the film for free from July 11th through July 25th.
Screening events, the purpose of which are at the sole discretion of each church, are expected to range from summer movie nights to screenings for the Men's Ministry. The pamphlet accompanying the film suggests selling popcorn and soft drinks to raise money for church mission programs.
Journey to Everest highlights a new wave approach to religion and film, lead by veteran filmmaker Mitchell Galin at the helm of Epiphany Productions. "Journey to Everest explores the same universal themes such as courage, teamwork, faith and self discovery that are present in films spanning the decades from The Chronicles of Narnia to The Matrix," said Epiphany Productions CEO Mitchell Galin. "Our ultimate goal is to inspire our audience while entertaining them with this action-packed adventure film."
Churches wishing to participate in this free premiere event may sign up by visiting the film's website.
