In Miracles From Heaven, director Patricia Riggen used the memoirs of the real-life Christy Beam (Jennifer Garner) to share the way that God showed up in amazing ways. While Christy’s daughter Anna had been diagnosed with a painful, incurable disease, God showed up in a mighty way, through a freak accident, to cure Anna and give the Beams a story to share.
Now on Blu-ray, DVD, and Digital, Miracles From Heaven incorporates the talents of Garner, Martin Henderson, and Kylie Rogers to show the love the Beams have for each other, while Queen Latifah plays a woman who befriends them.
For those who have not seen the film, it will inspire and encourage to see God in unexpected ways, even in the midst of suffering. For those who have seen the film, the extra features will delight and explain more about how the film was shaped by the real world events.
Special Blu-ray features include “Accounts from Annabel”: hear how a young girl’s struggle became a blessing, and deleted scenes. On both DVD and Blu-ray, the home audiences can hear commentary from Riggen and Randy Brown, the screenwriter, as well as a look at how the film was made, a montage set to Third Day’s “Your Words,” and the way that the film’s crew put together the way that heaven is depicted.
As Beam said, she hopes the film will highlight God’s movement. “My head was down at the time so that I couldn’t see how interactive and active God was, how seriously involved He was. It’s amazing to see how much of a plan He has, and it’s changed my life knowing He’s in control.”
“The truth is, when you’re going through it, you don’t always let others know,” Beam told ChristianCinema.com earlier this year. “But hearing how our story is changing families and marriages is powerful.”
Now, audiences at home can be moved as well.
