Signal Hill Pictures

Our mission focuses on addressing the needs of people on both sides of the camera. There is significant room for high quality films with redeeming values and opportunities to display God's love with those involved in the process of production. We want to glorify God in the process as well as the product.

The need for excellent yet uncompromising entertainment is rarely satisfied. Films soaked in blood, casual sex and profanity have become the rule, not the exception, in Hollywood. The prevailing attitude toward Hollywood recalls Mark Twain’s celebrated comment about the weather: everybody talks about it, but nobody does anything about it. In the case of the entertainment industry, most people recognize its powerful influence on their lives, but they assume that there is nothing they can do to change its course or reduce its impact.

According to polls, many viewers would like to see Hollywood produce cleaner movies. In an Associated Press survey in 1989, overwhelming majorities indicate that they want less violence in movies (82 percent), less sexual content (72 percent), and less foul language (80 percent). Accordingly, movies rated G and PG perform better than R-rated movies at box offices across the nation despite the fact that there are 4 times as many R titles. Thus, a gap exists. A need for films with strong moral undercurrents.

The mission of Signal Hill Pictures is to provoke the audience to higher levels of insight and truth, to capture the genuineness of God. Our intention is to create films of rich cinematic value that refresh instead of parch humanity, and to be at the forefront of bringing Christian film into a new era.
