Hi friend, After college I worked a few years for Continental Airlines. (No, I wasn't a flight attendant!) I made some great friends there. Four or five of us visited Galveston Island a couple of times every year for a lazy weekend, and called ourselves the “Beach Buddies.” We had a lot in common, but were an eclectic group when it came to our faith. One of my friends was an agnostic who was seeking truth. Another was Mormon, and the other a holiday churchgoer. When I left Texas, my agnostic friend said she appreciated that I never pushed my faith on her. If I had, our friendship would have ended. What she did appreciate was the joy and peace I had. To this day I wonder if she found her way to Christ. How do you talk with your friends that don't know Jesus about Him? What do we say to explain Christ, the Resurrection, and the infallibility of the Bible? What happens when someone researches those truths for themselves? The Case for Christ, a compelling documentary from reporter Lee Strobel, presents his conclusions to these quesions and more. After a 2-year investigation into the claims of Christianity, he was convinced of the truth. God does exist, and Jesus lived, died, and rose again. At the end of his search, Strobel, an avowed atheist, converted to Christianity.
Together, The Case for Christ and The Case for A Creator, make a valuable resource for those seeking proof for the existence of God. With this week’s emphasis on films of an apologetics nature, you’ll be well-equipped to answer tough questions about the existence of Christ. Retracing his own spiritual journey, Strobel cross-examines the experts with tough, point-blank questions: How reliable is the New Testament? Does evidence exist for Jesus outside the Bible? Is there any reason to believe the resurrection was an actual historical event? This remarkable documentary is like reading a captivating, fast-paced novel. But it's not fiction. It's a riveting quest for the truth about history's most compelling figure. What will your verdict be in The Case for Christ? What do the discoveries of modern biology, physics, cosmology, and astronomy really tell us about the origin of life and the universe? When objectively considered, does contemporary scientific evidence point toward or away from a supernatural Creator? Strobel interviewed scientists and scholars from a wide range of disciplines for the answers. Based upon a New York Times best-seller, The Case For A Creator is a remarkable film about Lee Strobel's journey from spiritual skepticism to a profound faith in the God who has etched His indelible signature upon every galaxy and living cell. The Creator now revealed by 21st century science.
Featured Filmmaker: Steve Greisen "Come on a journey with us, and discover truth along the way." At one point in his own journey, Steve was introduced to Nelly Ward, (formerly of The Second Chapter of Acts), who became his wife. A music-lover, Steve helped run Live Oak Records, a label that recorded Nelly's group and many other Christian artists. He also began working on film productions during that time. "No one told me that it's hard - I just did it," Steve says about those early years. "I'm a terrible example because I wasn't educated in film-making and I didn't try to work for a film company. I took a very unconventional path to get where I am today." Steve's films include: Journey of Hope, the Incredible Creatures series, The Search for the Real Mt. Sinai, and First Love. ©2007 ChristianCinema.com
