During May and June, millions of students graduate from high school all around the world. It's a major achievement and milestone in their lives. Ironically, the graduation ceremony is called "commencement," which means a beginning, or start, rather than an ending.

There's a well-worn saying that goes "Today is the first day of the rest of your life." I think that's especially true of high school graduation. Like Lucy stepping through the wardrobe and emerging in the land of Narnia, magnificent wonders await in a mysterious new world.

Graduate or not, the world is a wondrous place. And, like the kingdom of Narnia, it's full of adventure, beauty and danger, with a king who is not tame, but who is good. And he has magnificent plans for us, whether we are at the beginning of our life's adventure, midway through it, or near the end.
