My kids absolutely love this DVD! I've had so much fun watching them (the children) as they are glued to the TV when it's playing. I never read the books, so I cannot speak for the adaptation itself, but, for me, this is quality entertainment that is definitely worthy of our family film library.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, for sure. So, my opinion is that these kids (and adults) in the movie have done a fine job of acting. None of them are stars (yet) but there are a few of the kids especially who could find themselves with successful careers as actors if they so choose.

Also, there are plenty of times in the film that the characters pray and share the importance of their faith. Even if Christ is not mentioned specifically, it isn't too hard to figure out who the God is of a hard-working farming family in 1950's United States.

I was actually able to attend the premiere of this film at the Fox Theatre in Atlanta. People that I don't even know were sharing how impressed they were with the film. I learned that this is actually the first of a 5-film series. It is my understanding that the "faith" aspect grows along with the characters and the storylines as each movie progresses.

Give these films a look. If you have kids, I promise you won't be dissappointed.

WONDERFUL! My 8, 6, and 3 year olds loved this movie! "little rascals" like. I've just ordered the "conoe fish" as well, I'm sure it will be just as funny.

My son is ten, and I think due to his age, his interest level was that this movie was interesting enough to keep watching, but not one that really drew him. I'd say it would be better for younger children. It's a cute story, though.

My kids really enjoyed this movie for the most part. My 4 and 6 year old were a bit afraid at times and had to leave the room but the 9 and 11 year olds were fine.

My 4 year old did say it had a very sad at the end.
