My daughter said that the people looked like they were made out of paper.

Each of the stories is approximately 20 minutes long. Every 5 minutes or so, the narrator quickly re-summarizes the key events that happened up to that point, which is a good teaching technique.

The quality of the animation and the audio does not compare with the quality of any animated movie that you would see in the theaters. To compensate for the audio, I turned the volume way up. But how many movies that you see in the theater will teach your kids about God and the Bible, like this one will? The DVD doesn't dance around and avoid the issues. It comes right out and talks about the evil actions of mankind and the anger and forgiveness of God in very straightforward ways, the same way that the Bible does.

My 7 year old daughter was very interested in all of the stories. I had to keep the DVD longer so that she could watch the story of Esther again. She did absorb some of the significance of the stories, and I was able to reinforce the message after she watched it.

My 4 year old son lost interest. I think that was partially because in some scenes there is not much going on visually, instead the activity is the dialogue between the characters and the narration. I don't think that he was able to follow it. I'll share it with him again when he gets older.

I recommend the DVD for children of the right age because the importance and quality of the message outweighs the second rate production qualities.
