His faith called him back. His vision transformed a nation.

2005 Crown Award Winner for Best Music Score (Gold)

2005 Crown Award Winner for Best Drama Over $250,000 (Bronze)

This docu-drama, presented by Faith & Values Media, takes a new look at one of the best-loved and least-understood icons of world religion. The story of the real St. Patrick is part adventure tale and part spiritual awakening, with the future saint rising from slave to liberator; learning to forgive and ultimately love his enemies; taking up a cause no one believed in; and finally lighting a fire that kept western civilization alive. His legacy has had an impact not only on Ireland, where he was able to forge a ground-breaking synthesis of Christian faith and Celtic traditions, but also on all of civilization.

This portrayal of the life of Patrick, who lived in the fifth century, was shot on location in Ireland, using actors in period dress to recreate scenes from Patrick’s life. It features the voices of two of Ireland’s top actors, with narration by Liam Neeson, and Gabriel Byrne supplying the voice of Patrick. On-camera commentary is provided by Frank McCourt, renowned Irish-American author of Angela's Ashes, who offers keen insight into how a foreign evangelical would have interacted with the Irish. Additional commentary is provided by noted scholars and authors.

People of all faiths will find this an enthralling and challenging story.

A Christian Film Reviewer on Christian Filmmakers

My friend Greg Wright, who is Managing Editor of both Past the Popcorn and Hollywood Jesus, is also an ordained pastor. As an author, he's written the books Tolkien In Perspective: Sifting the Gold from the Glitter (2003) and Peter Jackson in Perspective: The Power Behind Cinema’s The Lord of the Rings (2004).

He just wrote a review for the film A Greater Yes, and in the introduction captured what I think is the essence of some of the questions we struggle with. He says:

I'd really hate to be a Christian filmmaker who's actually known as a Christian, making films for the Christian audience. It would be almost impossible to please anyone. From the outside, you’d be criticized for preaching to the choir; from within you'd hear talk about making films for the Christian ghetto; and, of course, you'd be certain to get criticized from the ghetto choirloft itself about the "theology" of your film no matter what doctrinal persuasion you espouse. Nothing you made would ever be quite Christian enough.

Of course, all filmmakers are subject to such scrutiny. But from what I've seen, it's a little tougher to aim for the Christian niche than to go more broadly secular.

He also makes the point that no one film can capture ...

Sarah didn't care. Natalie knew better.

On a cool October night each will make a choice that will ensnare them all in horrifying consequences.

M1028 is about the invisible struggle between right and wrong. It is a story of the physical death awaiting everyone and the certainty of the two resurrections on the other side: one a resurrection into life, the other into unspeakable horrors. Each is eternal, each the result of choices made while on earth.

Rebellion. Manipulation. Conscience. Redemption. Prepare to be shaken and disturbed. M1028 will remain with you long after the last credit line has faded to black.

"I wanted to thank you for this movie. It really made me think, am I where I should be with God, and the answer was no. But now because of this movie I can say "I truly know God". - ChristianCinema.com Customer
...
