Great story. I thought the movie was a bit slow moving at times - but still enjoyed it.
All of the actors did a great job - the boy in particular.
Some scenes might be disturbing to young children - but it is a very clean film - with no bad language at all.

Powerful, dramatic film. It is so powerful, you will be certain it is based on a true story. The boy who plays David is stunning. Every mother will want to take him home and comfort him. Jim Caviezel plays a very supporting role, yet plays it humbly and with great depth.
Second time we've seen this as a family. It never fails to make me cry.

A suspenseful movie right from the beginning. I should have kept my hankies close by because I needed them often. This DVD was well worth the time spent watching it.

You never know what one person goes through until you walk in their shoes. Thus is the theme of this movie.

It was very touching with spiritual overtones. I enjoyed it very much.

It had a good message of never giving up! It was a movie the whole family watched - which is very important these days. It moved a little slow and was not the best storyline I have ever seen. On a scale of 1-5 I give it a 2.5.

This is one exceptional movie. It shows the stark reality that for many Holocaust survivors ending up on the wrong side of the Iron Curtain wasn't much better than under Hitler Germany. This movie is backed up with superb acting. It is a must see.

A moving story of sacrifice and the discovery of freedom, "I Am David" is a new favorite. The story of self-discovery is told so well, and watching David learn to trust is very moving. There is a very good twist toward the end of the film, and the unexpected surprise is a joyful one. It's also an insight into a lesser-known piece of history.

This is a great war movie about a boy named David who escapes from a concentration camp in Bulgarije. I watched it with my kids and they enjoyed it very much. Excellent acting and great story.

In my eyes, this was a great movie. I felt renewed devotion and love for my children, and cried my eyes out afterwards. It was a little too intense for my sensitive 7 year old, but she loved watching the parts I allowed her to see. My 12 year old son thought it was a good movie except for a couple unrealistic parts.

I would say this movie goes beyond good. It makes one wonder how many movies there
are that somehow escape the public's attention. This child could have been of any nationality
or set in a different time. Taking any child and trying to see life through eyes and emotions.
Deprived of any sense of well being or security going out into life and step by step learning.
It's one of those movies that touches the very fabric of life and goes beyond words. True in
the end, unlike life, everything takes a turn for better. Somehow one wishes it could be so
for every child and somewhere in the end the world would take a turn for the better. Maybe
someday without going through the anguish of David, it will really happen.

WOW!! What an inspiring movie! This movie I found on accident .. and let me tell you it was one of the best accidents to come across!! I was inspired and was holding onto hope for this child David. I understood his need to find his place in this world. After watching this movie I still continue to think about it and how it made such an impact on me and how I view life. There is hope, sadness and joy in this movie and the part that Jim Caveizel played was excellent .. sort of eerie in one way as his portrayal to Jesus. A great "must see" for a pick me up.. Inspiring... I will definetely add this film to my library for others to enjoy as well!!
