I saw the new version of the film last night. I have to say that it did not touch me the way this animated picture did. This film DEFINITELY stands the test of time even being animated and from the 70's.

The new movie has special effects, true, but the characters were not as well fleshed as they were in the animated version.
I guarantee that children who watch the new movie will not understand what is going on, but they will enjoy this animated feature. I first saw it when I was 8 and I was enchanted by it. Now I'm 28 and I want my husband to watch it with me.
