This is one of those movies I watch and think "Why are Christian movies so BAD???" This movie is very poorly acted, the soundtrack is flat and does not match the circumstances, and the whole thing is just stilted and miserable to watch. This movie is a prime example of bad Christian movies produced and cranked out over the years that are simply painful to watch. My husband and I only finished it because it was so bad it became comical. I gave it one star only because the premise of the movie was interesting, as it is about spiritual warfare, a topic not covered in Christian movies nearly enough. But they took a very good idea and spent nearly 2 hours butchering it. There are many other ways to spend 2 hours of your life and this is NOT it.

I was expecting something very different! I thought this movie was very cheesy. I guess I was thinking it would be more about the dangers of the occult and the paranormal, and while this movie did touch on that and made it clear that involvement in those activities opens you up to demonic beings. It did so in a cheesy, over dramatic way! I think if you want a movie that is "scary" without watching a scary movie this would be great for you. But if you're looking for something that goes in depth about the dangers of the occult this isn't it.

I thought this movie was outstanding. The special effects are as good as any secular Hollywood horror movie. It made me jump several times. The theme gives the true biblical answer to all the so-called paranormal activity in our confused world today. This film is full of emotions of all kinds, from laughter and fear to truly moving sadness. I would recommend.

Hi Movie Viewers!

My name is Tiaan Kruger, I am the Executive Producer and Cinematographer for "Paranormal". I have been fascinated with how various people perceive the film differently. I want to make a couple of very important points for people to know when considering to buy / watch this film:

- This film is Kingdom oriented, and by no means promotes "Paranormal" related activities.
- It was made in a style to attract fans of typical "Ghost Hunting" type shows to encourage them to watch it and in the process learn the truth from a Biblical perspective.
- It is CRITICAL to finish the film once you start it. Hint - Good overcomes evil in a spectacular way in the end!
- The story DOES get creepy and intense at times, no question, but to properly set the stage to show how good overcomes evil, evil must be put in proper context.

Enjoyed this movie! Very suspenseful and fun. Biblically accurate as well, and the free Bible Study download is perfect for my Youth group! Not sure why some say it promotes ghost hunting or anything contrary to scripture. The Bible Study provided totally aligns with scripture. If you watch the movie to the end, you clearly see how Christ triumphs over evil and how dangerous it is attempting to interact with "the dead" and how they are actually demons trying to deceive. Those who are interested in the secular "ghost hunting" fad will definitely learn A LOT from this movie! Thanks for a high-quality, entertaining film that comes from a biblical worldview. Wish there were more suspense movies out there that did that. Waiting for Paranormal 2 now.

This movie is stupid. I seriously think this movie was made by a bunch of high schoolers from a church youth group. The acting was painful to watch, more than once I saw the actors accidentally look at the camera mid-scene, lol. It's not even a "B" movie, more like a "C", haha. Skip this one.

My name is Janet and I watched this movie and it is misleading and will only get someone interested in "Ghost Hunting" Even Satan comes as an angel of light! People who "Ghost Hunt" are only being decieved themselves and it is very dangerous to speak to "dead people" demons. Satan only comes to steal kill and destroy! I do not recommend this movie to anyone that is a True believer in Jesus Christ. Remember you can not "Ghost Hunt" and claim to be a born again Christian. You either worship God with your whole heart or not! Jesus is the Way Truth and Life!

We just finished watching "Paranormal", and all I can say is WOW!!! I thought it was better than the secular movies "paranormal activity,2 & 3".
This movie went the distance and not only showed how dangerous it can be to dabble in the paranormal, but how JESUS CHRIST is the undeafed champ over all things. How satan is a defeated foe,and that Christ is victor now and forever.
A really wonderful, Biblically based movie. We loved it!!

Paranormal works on a number of levels. As a supernatural suspense movie the story is engaging, the characters are believable, and the atmosphere is as much a character at times as the people on the screen. From a theological perspective the movie makes a number of very valid points, but does so in the context of the story as opposed to some films where it seems the theological portion is either so heavy handed that it overpowers the rest of the movie, or seems tacked on in an effort to make the film "Christian."

There's none of that here.

The pacing is effective, the action believable, and the tone of the movie will stand up against anything the major studios can do with their multimillion dollar budgets. In short...it's scary!

As an author in the same genre and an ordained minister, I cannot recommend this movie highly enough. I can recommend, however, that you invest in a nightlight before you watch it.

I received my copy of 'Paranormal"in the mail after less than a week of hopefull anticipation ,I was hopeful that finally the christan media would address the "pop paranormal'...I was pleased with the information that I could glean form this movie..and I do agree with the most of what I found there...but the presentation was almost juvenile .I guess I was hoping I could find a movie that I would not have a problem giving to the leader of my local paranormal research group...and this ain't it....if you want to show some amount of truth to your 14 year old...this may work...but make sure you fallow up with more info .....I hope that the christian media will try again...may be target adults this time

My name is Jason and I am a team leader with the Paranormal Investigation Team named S.P.L.A.T. (the Southwestern Pennsylvania League Of Apparition Technologists) in PA. I just wanted to let you all know that I just watched a Pre-release screener of the movie "Paranormal" and it is great! "Paranormal" is everything the movie "Paranormal Activity" was lacking. The film included more scares than that one at the end of "Paranormal Activity" while at the same time incorporating a terrific story and heart. The film was well researched while staying accessible to the average viewer. It brings to light how dangerous the field of paranormal research can be if not approached with a very strong faith in God and all Christian teachings. So if anyone viewing this page is interested in investigating the paranormal, just curious in the paranormal, or are already a seasoned veteran in the field, make sure to check out "PARANORMAL". And then share it with a friend...with the lights off!
