A good message but extremely poor delivery. The plot was muddled, the acting was poor, and the film quality was eqivalent to a soap opera. I believe Christian film today is being so powerful because producers have brought the quality of their films to a level where they can compete in the secular world for an audience. When that occurs, we begin to bring people in and present them with God's word and they will be inspired to listen and think about what they have seen. I pray this producer will continue to hone his craft so his message will be offered in a better light.

A Letter to Dad is such a deep movie. You have to come to terms with your past before you move ahead or you will always look over your shoulder. It shows the very real problems that come from a broken home. The Bible says God hates divorce and we should hate what He hates and love what He loves. This movie shows the harm that it does to a child whose only desire is to be loved. It also shows how badly our society needs godly fathers. However, in the end God can even overcome all of this with His goodness and love.

Great movie! A must-see for every parent! This movie will open your eyes to how important it is to be there for our kids. How our choices affect them. How they look to us & need us. And how messed up their lives can be when we're not there for them. There were a few unrealistic scenes in the movie, but the message was so good & powerful that it was easy to overlook those parts.

A letter to dad brought back similar things that I had to deal with losing my dad when I was 15. It showed to power of forgiveness and prayer and ultimately reconciliation. What a great God we serve!

Liked the movie, but a bit corny at times. But the parts with the father and little boy we really the best. Most of the acting was good.

This DVD "A Letter to Dad" is a wonderful, heart touching story.
The writer makes you feel like you are right there as the story unfolds.
My Dad and I were so very close and I just lost him a few years ago and this movie made me feel so thankful for the great love and relationship that he and I did share for so many years. This movie showed that Dan's dad had hurt him as he was growing up even without meaning too but in the end he did show Dan that he did love him and Dan found out that his dad also had carried some hurt by his own dad.I highly recommend this movie to everyone.

Started out as a cute love story. Then brought in the complex struggles in the young man because of the turmoil from his youth. I felt it was handled rather realistically, seeing both the child's viewpoint and finally the adult child's viewpoint. The unresolved hurts from the broken home of his past. These are confronted and he finally confronts his father. Done without being offensive in language or action.

I liked it more than my wife did. The script is a little disjointed but there are some great scenes. I have to say that the groups of teens did a fantastic job of acting. This movie is not for kids though.

All in all pretty good moving. A little slow moving but portrays how deep hurt can be held in do to situations in ones life. Al least he came to terms with it, confronted it and a happy ending evolved.
