A pastor friend lent us these dvd's to watch. This set is a great learning tool, we have read these chapters in the bible and to have a video history really makes your understanding grow. We love that they go verse by verse in the bible. Now we wanted a set of our own so we can watch them anytime we wish.

This movie is great! The only problem with it is that half way through the movie Mary Magdelene shows up as one of the disciples and the camera seems to focus on her. She would not have been in the upper room where Jesus and the twelve meet for the last supper, and she would not have been present in the Garden on the night of betrayal, but other than that it is an excellent word for word reading of the Gospel of John. The characters are all wonderful (even Mary Magdelene) but I especially liked the idea that they used people who were not "Hollywood" a types. Peter is very believable as is the other apostles. Jesus is superbly acted and I wished that other "Jesus" actors would learn from this guy - very believable!. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. Gospel of John does just that!

After watching this Visual Bible series, I felt it was okay. I was grateful that this Visual Bible series used the NIV Bible, but I didn't particularly care for the actor that portrayed "Jesus" in this one - but the other actors/actresses were pretty good. In all, I guess it's okay viewing, but I have to just overlook the actor who portrayed "Jesus". Overall, I like having Visual Bible because it does make it very interesting to actually kind of "see" everything acted out (as much as possible). I would love it if they could make one on the book of Mark & Luke.

After viewing this video, I feel it's fair to give it 3 stars. I really liked the guy that portrayed "Jesus" in this Visual Bible series. I felt that he did pretty good and the other actors/actresses were good as well. I am not a fan for the particular Bible translation that was used in this DVD. I really only like the NKJV or the KJV. In some cases I don't mind the NIV. But the New American Bible I don't care for. Outside of the version they used, I felt that all in all it was a DVD worth watching.

I ordered this nearly 2 years ago, and have viewed this DVD many times. It is such a wonderful portrayal of Jesus and Matthew as it is acted out. I am ordering this version now for my grandson "Matthew" who has been called into the Ministry. What better gift could I give him?
This is a must see for everyone. Jesus is so believeable, so much feeling seen on His face. The acting
is so real. It's top notch in my DVD Library.

I am so glad I ordered this movie It was the best movie that I ever seen on the Gospel of Matthew. Iteach a bible group study and we learn so much from visual movies. We have our group study and incorperate the movie as a treat night to see how it lines upwith the bible and what we are learning. It's amazing what you learnI think every one should learn more about the GOSPELS. ITis a must seewoth every penny . i personally loved it i will watch it over and over again each you watch it you learn more and more as you grow in the word

Absolutely the best movie! It's NOT boring! Even my kids were glued the whole time. I love the acting and not one word is outside of scripture in the movie. Really brings the gospel of Matthew alive!

I have not watched the entire dvd yet, that being said I find this production a little lacking. The actors playing the parts of John the Baptist and Jesus are a little out of range for me. My favorites to date are Jesus of Nazareth and the Gospel of John as both portrait the Life of The Lord Jesus Christ Who Is The Lord of Glory in a more indepth, less superficial and plastic manner. Also I am not a fan of the translation on which it is based. I do however pray that the Lord use it to bring many to salvation which is what it is all about is it not?

Wao! Acts is so true to the Biblical text, word by word, very well done with the actors and all....and the best part for us is that we could watch it in Spanish. My 5 yo watched the entire visual book! ( not all in one sitting of course). I think is a must have for the Christian family!

I enjoyed this movie very much. As a theological student I am so aware that Jesus is Divine Love and Wisdom itself, but I found the portrayal of Jesus as very affectionate, hugging and kissing everyone, even the pharisees, an interesting take. It causes one to wonder a bit, doesn't it? Thank you! Blessings, Wayne

VERY VERY disappointed with the quality of this DVD. The acting is terrible; the lighting is horrible; the directing is horrible. Wish I could get my money back. Don't know how a person can make a decision about the quality of the product without opening & viewing the product.

Want others to have a heads up about this DVD before they waste their money on this.

I really appreciate the word-for-word biblical narration in this movie. I didn't feel I had to explain to my children why "this isn't biblically correct". I personally prefer the TRUTH verses great special affects. Hopefully you will enjoy it as much as I did.

Just to let everyone know, this video is nothing like the new Gospel of John. This book of Acts video must have been produced quite a few years ago.

The worst part of this film is not the special effects; it just seems like the film was terribly directed and the actors were horrible and unemotional for their roles. It was so terrible I could not make it through the entire film.

Though I like the verse by verse, this film was terrible (and I am not using that term loosely either). I became extremely frustrated when certain scense that would have made excellent video were taken out and just narrated (read instead of acted out). One example is was Acts 5 with Ananias, with Sapphira who were killed for lying to the Holy Ghost. This scene was entirely removed and just narrated.

I was extremely disappointed. I wanted to give people a heads up warning in case you are one like me that believes in accuracy and good quality work.

I ordered Matthew in VHS format when it first came out. It was the best rendition of Jesus I have ever seen. I loaned my VHS out and it never came back. I have have been hunting the film and calling places in hope to order another copy. Today I found this website and the the Matthew film and I am so estatic! I have ordered Acts and John, also. I look forward to all three of them. I have family members that I wanted to show Matthew to, and now I can. God is so good. I have been hunting off and on for 4 years.

You can order this movie without any reservation; it will exceed your expectations! This Holy Spirit inspired movie will touch your heart and you will never be the same.

My friend has the Matthew VHS and loaned it to me to watch. I was amazed! It was so awesome. I immediately bought a copy for myself and our church library. I will recommed it to everyone. The visual impact from seeing what I've read many times over does not compare. I will carry the visual in my mind for a long time. Great Job!

I have purchased, Matthew, Acts, and The Gospel of John and enjoyed all three. The best of all was this one, Matthew though. I was so moved by Jesus's compassion and love for us all that I cried for three days after viewing the film. It put Him in a light that I have never seen before. Jesus was really human and Divine. I could completely relate to Him. I would highly recommend this one to everyone!!! If it were possible, I would give it 10 stars!.

This movie is a great accomplishment. It follows the NIV word for word - which is a very clear translation. I saw the Jesus of Nazereth miniseries when I was a teenager, and the Visual Bible sets have taken the Biblical film to a new level. The love and compassion Jesus Christ has towards the people is really tangible. The Acts set is also great - Highly recommended!
