A very well acted low budget movie that I would definitely watch again. The writing is pretty accurate to the Bible, unlike most Bible movies, and the message was right on point, especially in these end days where those who are called to discipleship need to understand the whole point of being a Christian. Well done.

I applaud Pure Flux's job on Peter. Yes its low budget but who cares, they took what they had and made a small prison room story a very well made, well acted film. I want more.

Leo E: Bruce Marciano in "Matthew" played the best Jesus out of all the movies out there. I think the guy from the Passion of the Christ would have done awesome if they had done a movie about the life of Jesus...I saw "Peter" and said ok, I have to check this out...then I saw that Bruce was in there and I was sold! Then I saw a bit more of the acting, music, cinematography and I was very impressed. I know for a fact that if I loved the movie "Matthew", I'll certainly like this one! Feb 15, 2012

Sabrina S: No it does not,Peter was thinking back about the time he saw Jesus walking on water and he tried it also. The movie is more about Peter in prison thinking back about Jesus and the times they were together. It is a good movie.Very good movie. Mar 16, 2012
Charlotte S: NO, IT DIDNT SHOW THAT PART, IT IS MAINLY ABOUT THE LAST SUPPER, HOW IT CAME TO BE AND ALL THE ONES WHOS WHO SAT WITH JESUS THERE, I HAD HOPED FOR LITTLE MORE DETAIL ALSO, BUT DID ENJOY THIS MOVIE. Mar 26, 2012
Jake K asked: Appreciated Leo E's comment. I too have seen "Matthew" and agree 100% that Bruce Marchiano's acting has to be the best, and that has to be because God enabled him. Visual Bible also stuck to the script. I've been looking for info on 'Apostle Peter and the Last Supper' - is it excellent in truth? Feb 21, 2012
Rosemary G: The story is low key and biblical y sound, although some license has been taken with the story. No one really knows everything about what happened to Peter in his imprisonment, but as far as the word of God is concerned, the facts are true and relevant. The acting is believable and well done by all the actors.
With any Christian movie, my main concern is that the Gospel is spoken portrayed in a way that nothing takes away from the truth and the impact that the words of God and Jesus are meant to convey. If you personally know the word of God and wish to get a perspective on the possibility of what could have happened during Peter's stay in prison, this story is for you. Just always remember God's words spoken by Jesus can always stand alone because truth needs nothing but itself to stand. Good story and well told. Mar 6, 2012
Jake K: Thanks so much, Rosemary, for your response. I appreciate your input and affirmation that truth has been held to in this movie and the actors have done a good job. I will be ordering it. Mar 6, 2012
Rosemary G: I appreciate your reply. Very often you reply and never know if any one has heard or care. You are obviously a careful and devoted believer, as I am. May you continue to be covered and surrounded by the truth of God's Holy and beautiful word Mar 6, 2012
Jake K: It does seem in our day when its never been easier to communicate that communication has been at a minimum. I share your concern on that level as well as the truth of our wonderful Lord:) Blessings. Mar 6, 2012
Rosemary G: By the way, is there any way you can let us all know how you evaluate the movie in question? I know everyone does not like every thing I like and I am curious how you respond to the movie, it's truth and the wonderful cast. If you desire not to, I understand but you seem like someone who would let others know how you feel about anything that proclaims to be biblical sound. Thank you, Rosie Mar 6, 2012
Jake K: I'll sure try my best to provide an evaluation. I don't suppose anyone likes everything but the good movies available aren't making serious errors and the Lord seems to be giving them the ability to carry the mood of the story. We will be ordering the movie shortly and it should arrive in 2 or 3 weeks. We're in Saskatoon so a ways a way. Mar 6, 2012
Rosemary G: Jake, you are a really sweet guy to answer my comments. I am so particular about the things I watch that we often turn off anything the offends us. But even with the Christian films, there is reason to quit them if they have a tendency to wander away from the biblical truth. The word of God is so full of truth and life lesson, why do people think to alter the word of God is beneficial? My husband and I have come to realize that a movie that clings to biblical truth is so beautiful and soul satisfying, that we purposely look for such offerings on the internet. One we especially love is" Matthew", which we are currently looking at. Bruce M does such a good job of presenting what we can easily believe that Jesus was like as He walked the earth.
I hope you receive your DVD soon and find it a pleasure to see and contemplate. We have discussed it several times at our house. God's richest blessings on you and yours. Rosie Mar 7, 2012
Jake K: Thanks, Rosemary. I should explain that Jake's name always shows when we respond because we're signed in under his name. I am really Irene, his wife. Between the 2 of us Jake is the one most gifted to open and apply the Scriptures. I will often do his communications work:) Both of us are as exactly on the same page as you and your husband are when it comes to truth and the Bible. The "Matthew" series so excellent, so well done. When you hear the story behind the making of the movie it just confirms that God was in and behind the project. A number of the actions in the movie are spontaneous and must be led by the Holy Spirit to be so right on. Looking forward to remaining in touch. If you happen to have any further suggestions on good truth based movies we'd be delighted to hear from you. Irene for Jake and Irene Mar 7, 2012
Rosemary G: Dear friend, I am delighted to hear from either one of you. I am 84 years old and looking more and more to seeing the divine and beautiful face of my Lord and Savior. This may sound strange to you but knowing what I do of you, not really so strange after all, I had asked God if we could stay in contact. I would love it. I do have some things about Christian movies I could share with you, if you so desire.
I also have a Christian web site of my own, full of teachings, stories, a Christian book that can be downloaded free,( it had been published, but I took back the rights so I could give it away.) songs I wrote with sweet friend and teachings about how to walk with God, according to the bible. If you are interested but you need not request it if you really do not want to, and I will understand. What ever you decide is fine with me, because you seem to be a good Christian woman. I personally am delighted to know your. May God bless you and Jake richly, with all His riches in Christ Jesus, our Lord and Savior. Your new and devout friend, Rosie Mar 7, 2012
Jake K: I am so delighted to have met you!! You have really blessed my day and I suspect days in the future as well. My husband and I both had the dearest of friends, also a Rose, who we met here in Saskatchewan, and such rich fellowship with. She has moved to Ontario, so we now need to keep in touch through letters and the odd phone call. She was also in her 80s and had such a love for the Lord and His Word.
We definitely want to remain in touch and I'll share more through our personal emails so feel free to send your info regarding the web site you have. By the way, I have had a tremendous interest in writing but have never gotten to completing a project I was working on. Perhaps our Lord wants me to just send "tidbits" here and there:) I look fwd to receiving your web site address.
Many blessings....Irene for the 2 of us Mar 7, 2012
Rosemary G: Irene, your answer has blessed my day as well. I am a invalid and get out very little. My dearest daily project is to meet friends. Right now you are the only one and newest. God has closed many doors and has just recently opened this one for me. God chooses our friends if we listen. Your friend Rose sounds like a sweet and gracious friend. I know how you must miss her. Tell her I said hi!:
I cannot send the information you desired on this site, contact information is obviously not allowed.
God will supply. In the meanwhile we will use this site to correspond.
My maiden name is Bernier and my father's parents came from Canada and my grandparents lived there until they came to the United States. When my Dad was younger he only spoke French and he lived until almost 92 years. Perhaps I can encourage you to write. It need not be complicated, just truthful.Luv,Rosie Mar 7, 2012
Jake K: Now I see there at the bottom of the page, "Do not include....contact information." I overlooked that.
We seem to have so much in common. My husband was disabled in his 50s with a failed back. I went to work in a care home and then in a senior's complex. We're both probably drawn to seniors or people living with disabilities. Outside of the disability my husband retired a year ago and although I'm not quite to that age I quit my part time job this past November.
Another thing we have in common is a lack of friends. We do have our boys living and grand kids not too far away though and that helps. When it comes to friends I think we're alone because we did the unthinkable and left a Christian organization.......a long story. Oh how good the Lord is. During that time He opened my eyes to the life of Jesus and how our lives were so different from His model.
I love what you say about "listening" - hearing that still small voice - A verse of assurance regarding my salvation had to do with that. Romans 8:14 "For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God."
Irene (means Peace) Mar 7, 2012
Rosemary G: Dear friend, I have been thinking of you and do not want you to think I have forgotten you. We have a large household and much going on all the time.
I ask our dear Lord to bless you with His richest blessings in Christ Jesus our Lord, this beautiful time of the year when we give thanks for the sacrifice Jesus paid for our redemption and ultimate freedom from the shackles of sin and separation from our Heavenly Father. Such a wonderful Savior we love and serve.
DID you ever get you DVD of Peter and the Last Supper? Love in Christ Jesus our Lord to you and all, Rosemary Mar 31, 2012
hunter b: Jake K, this wasn't a bad movie, but isn't quite the caliber of movie that "Matthew" is. There's a lot more creative script writing going on this movie - although I would say it captures the love Peter had for Jesus, and the boldness he had in proclaiming the truth. Marchiano, although older, still does a great job in his portrayal of Jesus. All in all it 's worth watching in my opinion. Hope this helps! God bless, Ron Mar 13, 2012
Jake K: Thanks, Ron. The 'Matthew' movie is very hard to beat. I rather doubt there's anything that will be able to compare. It had to have been especially blessed of the Lord. No doubt many directors/producers pray about the movies but 'Matthew' actually stuck to the script and specifically prayed in regards to the details. At that time Marchiano was also a fairly new believer that had been brought to a ground 0 in his acting career and that kind of humility helps to make room for the Spirit of the Lord:) In 'Matthew' not only Marchiano did an exceptional job but so did the others - Peter in that movie was right on as well. I think your evaluation of 'Apostle Peter..." is proving to be helpful to me. Thanks again. Mar 18, 2012
MARLOS P: In my point of view The movie Apostle Peter is rich in details from the Apostles and mainly from the power of the word that Peter had together with his faith in Jesus till his death and his humility...A man who God sent to be Jesus mirror changing people lives! Mar 5, 2012
Jake K: Thanks very much for your answer, Marlos. We will be ordering this DVD and looking forward to watching it. Thanks again. Mar 5, 2012
Rick J asked: does anyone think robert loggia lacked passion in tis movie? omar sharif much better. Mar 16, 2012
Jill M: Hi Rick, No I thought he portrayed the Apostle Peter really well. He was an old man getting to the end of his life and he was looking forward to going home to be with Jesus. As he related the story of Jesus to the guard, he was contemplative and at times sorrowful for his some of his actions. I thought his portrayal was very realistic of a person who "had run the race" and was awaiting his death. He would have known the agony he was about to endure and so many thoughts would have been going through his mind. The attempts at torment by the enemy was also so real - just like he torments us on a daily basis, trying to lead us to make the wrong decision or to believe something that is just not true. I was quite impacted by it. I have not seen Omar Shariff's version so I am not aware of what time in the life of Peter he was portraying so I cannot comment on that aspect. Apr 15, 2012
A shopper asked: How does this compare to the "Gospel of John" dvd? Mar 6, 2012
Lynne W: Haven't seen Gospel of John. However, this is a jailed Peter looking back at life, primarily events surrounding the Last Supper and early ministry years afterward. Several events that could have taken place are interestingly and intriguingly portrayed; this is not an action/adventure piece but rather is introspective. I'd suggest reading the last supper scriptures before starting the DVD. Apr 10, 2012
