Apr 24, 2012 Karyn C: The first two movies, "Love Begins" and "Love's Everlasting Courage" were never books written by Janette Oke. They are movies that Michael Landon Jr. wrote to show us how Clarke met his first wife, their life together, her death, etc... These two movies were really nice to see, because it fills in so much information that Janette Oke only briefly mentioned in her books. Janette Oke's books/movies start with ""Love Comes Softly" and goes on from there. The first of couple movies based on the books in the series follow the books almost exactly, but the next few movies in the series are not exactly like the books, which was disappointing, but there are some scenes that are like the books. The movies are all good, but I wish they had to stick strictly to Janette's books. Hope this answers you question! May 24, 2012 Reply to Karyn Good answer? I think all of the movies are great and I agree that some are not exactly as the books flow, but I have bought all the movies for my sister who lives out of the country and has had a stroke so she can't read. Although these two prequels WERE NOT written by Janet Oke for her 'Love Comes Softly' series (12 books in all. Janet wrote 'A Prairie Legacy', which added 4 more books to the series) they are really nice to watch, because they give us additional information about the lives of the characters early on on their lives.
