During a weekend trip to the mountains, Mary (Erin Karpluk) finds herself at the now-dilapidated lodge where she spent the holidays with her family growing up. She becomes determined to restore the building to its former glory. Inspired by her grandfather and guided by her grandmother in heaven, Mary throws herself into the project, and during the process finds herself drawn to Jack (Michael Shanks), a handsome man who loves the lodge as much as she does. Historically unlucky in love, this chance encounter allows Mary to renew her faith in life and discover her one true love. For an uplifting story about the importance of faith, family and the true holiday spirit, go to the Christmas Lodge. Thomas Kinkade Presents: Christmas Lodge DVD Details:

It is about people who love the Lord and when hard times come they rely on Him...not wallering in self pity. Also an I CANdo it...movie. Beautiful photography and a great ending. I'll watch it again next year. Many professions of faith. Really enjoyed it. Beautiful scenery. Looking forward to watching it, even when it is not Christmas. Another favorite similar is The Christmas Card. Jan 30, 2012 Mary W: My husband particularly likes T. Kinkade's paintings so we bought this to enjoy together. Sadly, it wouldn't play on our DVD player as it was the wrong region! We'll take it with us to the states next time we visit!! Jan 3, 2012 Karen B: A love story set in a winter scene at Christmas time by Thomas Kinkade. Sounds great! Dec 11, 2011 Laurie W: It is a tradition with our family to watch good Christmas movies together over the holidays. Nov 29, 2011 A shopper asked: How does the Grandmother from Heaven motivate? Just fond memories? :) Nov 1, 2011 Jennifer P: There are several references to the grandmother actually creating a sort of "feeling" about things to happen. The grandfather senses her leading the granddaughter in making commitments concerning the Christmas Lodge. I agree it is a very family oriented movie, although some of the interactions are a bit stilted and almost too predictable. The little girl is very sweet and does one of the better acting jobs in the movie. There seemed to be skips in the story line that one had to sort of assume or conjecture. If there is a book, it probably would be helpful to read it first. All in all, enjoyed it. Dec 5, 2011 Reply to Jennifer Good answer? Taking walks and talking to God and to Grandma at the same time - in the sense that Grandma was a christian and in heaven with God... It's not very much focus on it in the movie, it was more like her way to cope with the death of her grandmother. Not exactly good christian theology, but it does not spoil the chrisitan message much. Just wondering. where wa it filmed? Beautiful scenery. Jan 14, 2012 Reply to Shawn Good answer? Yes (1) No (0) pixalu: Hi all, I live and grew up in Seattle. That is definitely the kind of woods you find in the Northwest. So agree with Shawn and Nate that it's British Columbia. BTW, the "snow" on the lodge is most definitely computer generated. So it appears that they didn't film it up in the actual mountains, like near Whistler or there would be natural snow. We get little to no lowland snow in the Pacific Northwest. Nate seems to have more specific information. Sweet movie that even people who aren't very religious can enjoy. I love that Erin Karpluk. Dec 25, 2012 Reply to pixalu Good answer? Can give you more info once I'm home. But yes...it was a terrific movie! Jan 14, 2012 Reply to Jo-Anne Good answer? Mostly Canadian cast...mountain scenes filmed in Pacific mountains in BC Oct 17, 2012 Reply to Nate G Good answer? Yes (0) No (0) Patricia M: I loved the movie too, but can't help with location. It would be interesting to know this. Jan 29, 2012 Reply to Patricia Good answer? Yes (0) No (0) Ed B asked: This is going to be our first movie night at our little church. Just looking for opinions on the movie? Thanks in advance Mr Ed Oct 29, 2011 Barbara M: It is very family-oriented in that there is no objectionable material or scenes. The scenery is beautiful, and the main female character gives a strong performance. They do talk a lot about family values, and the influence each member has on the others. However, I think the plot is weak, so it is difficult to stay interested in it for 90 minutes. Nov 14, 2011 Reply to Barbara Good answer? Yes (0) No (0) Reply to Bonnie Good answer?
