(View all 21 reviews) (no written review given) (no written review given) (no written review given) cute but serious enough to teacha lesson. dont quit on a marriage. (no written review given) It was a good clean movie but it was full of new age religion. (no written review given) Excellent acting, writing & filming. There are deep moments of anguish, though nothing graphic or outright violent. There are also lighthearted, comical moments. Louis Gossett Jr., as always, is delightful. Even the dog is a talented actor. I highly recommend this film. Someone (another review) mentioned inappropriate clothing, but I didn't notice any such thing. True, God was not mentioned, but the overall message was one of hope, thankfulness and giving to others. Jun 14, 2011 Tracy T: Frances as the Writer and Director of The Lamp it was my goal to convey the healing power that God has given us through his word. You hear Charles The Messenger say to the grieving parents "All things are possible if you Just Believe" That is the theme that runs through the entire movie. This statement is true because God says it is true and when we believe this truth, and apply it to our lives then we are able to change our lives because we are first willing to believe. I hope this helps with your question. Feb 23, 2012 Reply to Tracy Good answer? Yes (0) No (0) Erik KStaff: Hi Frances, Good question! It is not an evangelical film, but can be used to cause others to ask questions that you can then answer for them. Hope that helps! Sep 21, 2011 Reply to Joe Good answer? The lamp simply sets things in motion, enabling an "angel" to enter the lives of this family. I thoroughly enjoyed this movie and its message...very heartwarming.
