The plot is amazingly unique, and it contains a very powerful and important message. The role of Satan was played by Malcolm McDowell, who gave an incredible performance. I want to see it again as soon as possible! You'll think you're watching a version of C.S. Lewis' Screwtape Letters. Worth watching. Apr 3, 2012 trent c: Good family movie.Saw the movie in theater last year, could not wait for the dvd to be released. A must see for young ones to watch. Mar 20, 2012 A shopper asked: The movie sounds very interesting, but having known Malcom McDowell's work before I was saved I was astonished to see he would not only star in it but also co-produce it. His "acting ability" to portray these parts sadly is not from a Christian. He is scary from the trailer just like his original Clockwork Orange. That being said the story sounds like a good concept. Question, is it something my 16 year old could see? May 1, 2012 Tim S: As a pastor of a church and a father of three teens, this movie a great film for topical discussions to have with your teen. With all the distractions that this world and the devil have to offer our teens, it is vital we continue to take them to the Word of God to show the results of these distractions. Watch the movie with your 16 year old, than afterwards discuss the film, then spend some time in prayer with your teenager. It will be a very rewarding experience. May 3, 2012 Reply to Tim Good answer? Yes (7) No (0) Lisa C: Yes, it would be fine for your 16 year old. I don't know if Malcolm has become a Christian or not, but he really did an awesome job portraying the devil. This movie gives you a true look at who the devil is, not the pointy-tailed, red outfit wearing caricature he's been painted out to be. I hope this helps. May 2, 2012 Reply to Lisa Good answer? Yes (2) No (0) Steve S: It's not only a movie he could see, it's a movie he should see. There is no sex or profanity, only some scary images that are actually necessary to get certain points across. I've already watched it 4 times since I've received it. Bart Bronsons performance is superb in my opinion. McDowell was equally superb, especially his courtroom soliloquy at the end. You would think that Malcomb would 'unharden his heart' to the Lord after so accurately playing the being he just may have to end up spending eternity with. This stuff is for real people. Don't mess around with the message of the Gospel. Not taking it literally and seriously is the worst mistake that every single person who has ever lived can make. Like the movie points out, Satans' most effective tool is deceiving mankind into thinking that he doesn't really exist. May 1, 2012 Reply to Steve Good answer? Yes (0) No (0) Patricia W: Yes it is something your 16 year old could see. I found out about the movie from my 7 year old great granddaughter. She wants to watch it so I bought it for her. It is fantastic!!!!!!!!!!! Everyone should see it. Malcom McDowell is great in it. He does play the devil, and who better. Somebody has to PLAY the bad guy no matter what movie it is. He is very convincing. But the point is to make us realize the devil is alive and is working to destroy us all. But God is in control. Watch the commentaries etc. at the end. The other actors tell how nice of a man he is and how helpful he was during the movie. I hope you and your family enjoy the movie as much as I did and I can't wait to watch it again, and again, and again. God Bless May 2, 2012 Reply to Patricia Good answer? Yes (0) No (0) CHRISTOPHER P: I hate to say it but this was a really lackluster movie overall. I wish that I had just stuck with the decent trailers and always wondered what it was like. I don't mind supporting the gang, but the acting apart from Malcolm was a reasonable level of standard-ness and the plot was pretty mediocre and obvious. The twists were pretty much gimme's. I apologized to my wife for making her watch it having really built up her expectations. May 2, 2012 Reply to CHRISTOPHER Good answer? Yes (0) No (0) lynn c: I don't see why a 16 year old couldn't view it. It does reveal how Satan would throw our sins--be they known or not at us--to try to disavow the power of the blood of Jesus and what he did for us on the cross. The difference between our free will and temptation is also covered in an entertaining fashion in the film. It's a much better film to view than most of what is available on secular television networks. Lynn May 2, 2012 Reply to lynn Good answer? Yes (0) No (0) Robert H: Yes by all means, Not scary at all. Pretty comical in placed, but it gets the point across. I highly recommend this movie May 2, 2012 Reply to Robert Good answer? Yes (0) No (0) A shopper asked: IS this a joke? May 3, 2012 Nkck M: At first when I saw the title I thought the same but no it's well rounded human journey in life. Then it takes shape with the up coming lawyer seeking to make the author of human suffering pay. As you enter the life of this lawyer & see the court case building your attention is now in the court room procedings. Further suffering is revealed in that period & we are given a glympse of the works of satan. The story then shows the shoe moving to the other foot as the power of satan is removed with a revelation from God. I won't spoil it for you but there is a final twist & then the whole story really makes more sense. Don't be put off by the title it is a journey of Christian discovery, I would even say worth seeing because I have bought it and don't have regrets May 5, 2012 Reply to Nkck Good answer? Yes (6) No (0) Lisa R: No joke! An excellent and humorous movie!! Fun, fact and faith based!!! Loved it!! May 5, 2012 Reply to Lisa Good answer? Yes (2) No (0) David M: This movie is about one man's dream about suing the devil. The court room scene is fantasy. The final outcome after the trail is what counts. Our battle with the devil has already taken place at the Cross of Christ and His resurrection. May 8, 2012 Reply to David Good answer? Yes (1) No (0) Bernadine M: It appeared to be a dream in the movie, however it has a strong message about all of the distractions that Satan can and does use to keep us from finding salvation through Jesus Christ. May 12, 2012 Reply to Bernadine Good answer? Yes (0) No (0) A shopper asked: Heard so many great things about this film. How does it compare to C.S. Lewis 'Screwtape Letters'? Apr 5, 2012 Leitha P: I have never seen the Screwtape Letters. But will put that on my list to watch. The movie reminds me more of a British sort of play. Lets you realise the devil really hates us because he wants to hurt God. Malcolm McDowell is always interesting to watch. Shannen Fields (Facing the Giants) was good. . . Would love to see her get bigger roles in more Christian films. We so connected with her in the Giants movie. A couple of new actors trying to get a start, so still have lots to learn. Movie did bring to front lots of bible verses. It is an Indie film. . We need to support these Christian movies and staff so we can get Gods message out. The Devil knows how to use media and we need to take it back. Thanks, Leitha Apr 21, 2012 Reply to Leitha Good answer? Yes (5) No (0) Kathy C: I have not read Screwtape Letters, only have read passages that our pastor has used in lesson illustrations. But from what he has read to us, the primise is the same. The movie does a good job of showing the true evil intent upon mankind. I hope this helpd. Apr 25, 2012 Reply to Kathy Good answer? The delivery was very fast and convenient. Apr 7, 2012 Reply to Kimberly Good answer? Yes (0) No (0) Jordan M asked: Is this just more sanitized Christian garbage? Christian media is soo bad these days. Its all calls forward and self help. The days of C.S. Lewis are gone. I've lost hope in Christian movies quite some time ago. Jul 20, 2012 |
