Latest Reviews for WWJD - What Would Jesus Do? - DVD(View all 19 reviews)(no written review given) (no written review given) I would highly recommend this movie to every christian. It's a definite must see!!! Sometimes a movie comes along at just the right time in your life and it may be that is why I liked this movie so much, 1) looking at my own life I am letting crumble around me and 2) looking at our Nation so divided with leaders who have thrown their all into dividing us and then promising us they are the only solution to fixing everything back... We know that a Nation survives when people band together and help one another, restore hope and do this with God at the Foundation. I personally believe this movie greatly reminds us of the truth that our real hope is a foundation built on the Guidance of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, by simply asking us to Ask ourselves WWJD. Some say the phrase WWJD is used just a bit too often, looking around, I would say - maybe just in my own life - I haven't made my moves asking that enough. Movies like Courageous, The Woodcarver and WWJD are reminding me to ask myself this and make that change Now. Great Nations, great people, strong families are built on it. Maybe this movie was simply inspired by those neat “What Would Jesus Do?” bracelets, or maybe it was inspired simply by the book In his Steps by Charles Sheldon, (never read that. I might have to add that to my list of books lol) but I’d like to believe it was inspired by a little bit of both; at least as far as I could tell. WWJD? is a movie which obviously asks the question “What Would Jesus Do?”, but it’s a bit more than just that really. WWJD? has multiple stories connected together. One story is concerning Reverend Maxwell whose family died, while heading off to a family road-trip together; he has been depressed about it ever since. Another concerns a young musician who is offered a contract from a major record label but is told to pull a Katy Perry. (change tune in order to become famous) The third story concerns mayoral candidate Alex York who, at any cost, wants to win the election and be the savior of Raymond by destroying Reverend Maxwell’s church in order to build a casino hotel. These three stories come together thanks to an unknown hermit who appears in town asking for work and is greatly mistreated for it, but he is more than he seems to be… I really liked the music played by John Schneider and Adam Gregory. They were really good and I hope to hear more from John and Adam someday. In regard to the whole “WWJD?” campaign I’ll say this: if you actually think about that question (not dismissing it as unrealistic fluff) and take it seriously to some degree, I don’t find anything wrong with telling others to follow in Jesus’ example as long as it is actually Jesus’ example and not an overzealous Pharisaic misinterpretation of it lol; the movie promoted the “WWJD?” idea decently I felt. The antagonist Alex York had up and down moments where either I imagined “wow he makes a good villain, that guy is evil!” (introduction to his plan in “saving the town”) or where I thought “ok that’s a little over dramatic” (apple scene with the publisher). The other down for me was I felt things ended a bit too well. I mean yeah I like happy endings at times but it didn’t seem realistic enough for me for certain moments. Overall it wasn’t a bad movie you’ll like it especially if you like country music. (no written review given) Great movie. Its very simple story of what Jesus would do. We do live in the real world and many movies seem to have sweet ratings but when viewed it's anything but good. Again, all movies from ChristianCinema.com have been very good quality. It's similar to the book series "In His Steps" but doesn't follow it that much. It is a good quality Christian movie. Mar 14, 2011 Reply to Roger Good answer? I think the Dove rating of 3 out of 5 is what I would give it as far as interesting, plot line etc. Mar 14, 2011 Reply to Maryann Good answer? Yes (0) No (0) Reply to Marian Good answer? I feel it does make it real for a Christian to ask "What Would Jesus Do?" in his/her Christian walk. I do not feel it is over-religious, preachy or compromising. It can stand up to more than one viewing. It is worth sharing with other Christians. When Christians act out "What Would Jesus Do", we manifest the kingdom of God within us. Mar 7, 2011 Reply to RUDOLPH Good answer? It is very thought-provoking. Mar 20, 2011 Reply to Vera Good answer? Yes (0) No (0) |
