This is what America was all about. In today's society, too many families are directed by corporate America. Additionally, too many families are so engrossed by society (keeping up with the Jones') that they themselves are missing out on life.
I watched this film when it aired an almost forgot about its existance. It is a truly inspiring story of a family who moves out of the city and started a fresh new life for themselves nestled in the wilderness.
To me it conveys a simpler way of life, no TVs, MP3 players, Cell Phones or video games. It was the way life used to be, a hard life, but one fulfilled with family participation. If you love your family, you owe it to yourselves to experience the film, the move to the wilderness is up to you! I followed through, I am "that" guy who moved away from a large city in Airizona to strike my claim in Alaska. I live on a sizable lot with a log cabin, how quaint. I can say, it has been a challenge, a struggle, but something I'll never regret. My family is happier now than ever before. I wish you and your family well, spend some quality time together!
