Description:
Shirley Temple's classic portrayal of literature's beloved heroine.
Shirley Temple in a role that seems custom-made for her, portrays the spirited young heroine of the popular children's novel, giving her a rich emotional depth and infinite charm. When her aunt tires of caring for her, orphan Heidi is taken into the Swiss mountains to live with her gruff grandfather (Jean Hersholt), a hermit who comes to adore her. But the aunt returns to steal Heidi away, selling her to a family whose invalid daughter (Marcia Mae Jones) needs a companion. Bullied by an evil governess (Mary Nash), Heidi still charms the entire household and never stops trying to return to her beloved grandfather.
This Shirley Temple classic has never looked better! A patented coloring and remastering process makes her picture-perfect charm more vivid than ever! The restored Black-And-White Version is also included!

Heidi - DVD – Monette M, 11/09/2012 I love Shirley Temple so much.... My 14 yr old daughter n I were watching the movie n it froze up several times. Got 10 minutes to the end n it froze up n went straight to the credits . Restarted it n went to select scenes n it did the same thing... I think I got a bad CD...over all I love these movies with her in it.

Heidi - DVD – Misty C, 01/16/2009 Although this movie is well-done, my husband and I decided it is not for children. From the very beginning, Heidi's aunt shows disgust toward her, and explicitly makes it known Heidi is not wanted. Throughout the movie, Heidi is kidnapped twice, attempted to be sold to a gypsy woman, and ends up being the center of a tug-of-war between two adults. Our 6-year-old boy was sobbing by the end. Even though Heidi herself is delightful, the things that happen to her are scary.
They are the original survivors! Based on Johann David Wyss' family classic.
