March 7, 2012 (Grand Rapids, MI) – The Dove Foundation announced today winners of the coveted Crystal Dove Seal for the best Family Approved movies of 2011 in six categories; Comedy, Drama, Adventure, Animated, Documentary and Limited Release.
Movie awards and award shows every spring are ubiquitous. They are bestowed by groups representing virtually every imaginable constituency and ideology.
The CRYSTAL DOVE SEAL is unique in that it is an online ballot available to visitors to The Dove Foundation website, www.dove.org. These people are joined together by one common bond; they love good movies in a variety of genre’, but within the boundaries of good taste and positive values.
“The Dove Foundation has spent the last 22 years informing, empowering, and advocating on behalf of the‘Faith and Family Audience,’” said Dick Rolfe, Dove co-founder and CEO. “We’ve also offered our advice over the years to many grateful filmmakers working to reach this vast, underserved segment of the movie going public that’s looking for more family friendly entertainment choices. And we believe that the soon to be released update of our 2005 Film Profitability Study will again show that creating and producing films that Dove can approve just makes good business sense.”
