Tracy J Trost marked the beginning of Trost Moving Pictures with his directorial debut and award winning thriller, Find Me. Trost's moviemaking boasts enormous praise from The Dove Foundation, winning "Best Feature" and "Best Actor" from Script to Screen, "Best Feature Narrative", Trail Dance Film Festival and "Best Feature": 2nd Place, Kingdomwood Film Festival. The film saw the emergence of Trost's distinctive style and artistic cleverness as a filmmaker.
Changing direction, Trost follows up Find Me with A Christmas Snow, an inspirational story of forgiveness and redemption that he also co-wrote. Filming begins on February 5th in Tulsa with a topnotch cast and crew, including Catherine Mary Stewart (The Last Starfighter, Weekend at Bernie’s), Muse Watson (NCIS, Prison Break, CSI), Anthony Tyler Quinn (No Greater Love, The Mentalist, House, Cold Case, Boy Meets World), and newcomer Cameron ten Napel (Super, Pink, Barney and Friends).
Also on board is producer Chad Gundersen (Midnight Clear, Like Dandelion Dust, The Secrets of Jonathan Sperry) and co-executive producer, Emmy-Award winner Jim Stovall, the author of the top selling Christmas and family film of 2009, The Ultimate Gift (Starring: James Garner, Abigail Breslin, and Brian Denehey). Jim is Co-Founder and President of the Emmy-Award Winning Narrative Television Network, which makes movies and television accessible for our nation’s 13 million blind and visually impaired people and their families. He was so moved by the script that he requested to write the novelization of A Christmas Snow. In addition to the novel, Tracy J Trost is writing a non-fiction study book that will be featured in the film and draws upon the life lessons learned by one of the story’s main characters.
Finally, A Christmas Snow will also have an original music CD with various artists singing original songs inspired by the film and traditional Christmas favorites with a modern edge. The CD is being produced by award winning composer and producer Bryan Popin. Bryan has written for and produced with numerous artists, including: Justin Timberlake, Chaka Khan, Faith Hill, Tim McGraw, and Carrie Underwood.
"I am truly excited about A Christmas Snow and the fantastic cast and crew that we have been able to assemble," said Writer/Director Tracy J Trost. "This cast is going to be great, not just because of their talent and experience, but I believe more importantly, because they all believe in the message of this film. When I have the opportunity to work with actors that truly believe in the story and the message behind it, I feel like I am given a gift, and I don’t take that lightly. When a group of people get together with one purpose, anything is possible. This story will change lives, because of this idea... this crazy idea, that there is hope for the heart that dares to forgive."
For Kathleen, (Catherine Mary Stewart) Christmas has always been an unwelcome reminder of her father's abandonment almost 30 years ago. Although she has tried to forget her past, it has not forgotten her, and in the days leading up to Christmas an unforgiving blizzard traps her in her own home with two unlikely roommates. Sam (Muse Watson), a gentle older man Kathleen took in for the night and Lucy (Cameron ten Napel), the daughter of her soon to be fiancé (Anthony Tyler Quinn, No Greater Love) bring her face to face with the hurts of her past. Will she be able to let go and grab hold of a life changing forgiveness or will she continue to be haunted by the pain of the past?
A Christmas Snow will challenge you with a message of forgiveness and redemption, as the storm of the century...brings the gift of a lifetime.
The novel, based on A Christmas Snow, will be released nationwide August 2010 through Destiny Image Publishers. The DVD, non-fiction book, and CD will be released nationwide October 2010, also through Destiny Image Publishers and marks their first foray into DVD distribution.
