| Dr. Marc Newman is president of MovieMinistry.com, a company dedicated to providing pastors and lay leaders with the tools necessary to use movies as a way of reaching out to others with the Gospel of Christ. A college and university professor for over twenty years, Dr. Newman speaks at churches and professional organizations all over the United States on the persuasive power of film. He has written for Preaching Magazine, and his articles on Christianity, film, and culture have appeared on emerging-church websites such as Relevant Magazine, The Next Wave, and The Ooze, and are read monthly by over 50,000 Christian opinion leaders worldwide. Dr. Newman holds a B.A. from Biola University, an M.A. from Louisiana State University, and a Ph.D. from Regent University -- all in Communication with an emphasis in the rhetoric of film. His doctoral dissertation on transcendence and redemption in film won Dissertation of the Year from the Religious Communication Association.
