ONE DIRECTION: THIS IS US is a captivating and intimate all-access look at life on the road for the global music phenomenon. Weaved with stunning live concert footage, this inspiring feature film tells the remarkable story of Niall, Zayn, Liam, Harry and Louis' meteoric rise to fame, from their humble hometown beginnings and competing on the X-Factor, to conquering the world and performing at London's famed O2 Arena. Hear it from the boys themselves and see through their own eyes what it's really like to be One Direction.
Directed by Morgan Spurlock (Super Size Me) and produced by Simon Cowell, Adam Milano, Spurlock and Ben Winston.
"One Direction" is a hot boy band whose members had auditioned separately for the show "X-Factor" in England. However, none of them were selected individually so Simon Cowell put them together as a boy band. While they didn't win the competition, their enthusiastic fans set their future in motion. Their world touring concert in 2013 was completely sold out in 6 hours and their hit songs rose to number one around the world. This film shows the deep respect and camaraderie of the "lads" as they tour the world singing their uplifting and mostly wholesome songs.
In a world when child stars quickly fall apart, our hope is that these fine young gentlemen can keep things together with their grueling schedules and adoring fans - only time will see. While the film is inspiring, there is a single misuse of the name of Jesus that prevents us from recommending "One Direction: This is Us" for family viewing.
