Willow (Cambrie Schroder), a determined young teenager, is obsessed with the idea of meeting the father she never knew. She leaves her cushy life in Malibu to travel to the Sierra Nevada mountains, where she pays a surprise visit to Jack (Ricky Schroder), a rugged cowboy who has no idea he's a father. As the two struggle to bond, Willow makes a connection with a wild mustang, Bravo. Jack wants to capture and tame the magnificent horse, but Willow is convinced he needs to be free. Will the wild stallion that brought them together end up tearing them apart?
This is a wonderful film with a terrific story. Willow (Cambrie Schroder) learns who her father is and wants to get to know him. She has some tension in the beginning with her mother over it. Once she gets to know her father at his ranch she falls in love with a stallion which can save their ranch which is in financially dire straits. He plans to sell the horse to a wealthy woman for breeding. Willow wants the stallion to be left free but her father believes he needs to make the sale which causes some tension between the two.
The father and daughter reach a compromise by film's end. The movie is dramatic and features a villain (played by Martin Kove). The themes of this movie include loyalty, devotion and sympathy. It's interesting to note that the father and daughter form a bond as the story progresses. This heartwarming family film is awarded the Dove "Family-Approved" Seal for ages 12 and over.
Sex: Father notices boy looking at his daughter and corrects him; girl kisses boy on cheek.
Violence: A boy falls off a two wheeler but is not hurt; girl is angry at boy and yells at him and pushes him; girl punches a boy in the jaw; girl falls from horse; a horse is knocked down in a dark scene and a boy is heard screaming as the horse attacks him; man pushes girl to the ground; young boy shoots gun away from a man who tries to shoot the horse from underneath a girl.
Drugs: Smoking cigar in a few scenes.
Nudity: Shirtless men and beach scenes; girls in swimwear; cleavage.
Other: Mother and daughter have huge argument regarding the identity of the girl's father; some disrespect shown by the daughter but the two move forward.
