Synopsis:
 Superstar magicians Burt Wonderstone (Steve Carell) and Anton Marvelton (Steve Buscemi) have ruled the Las Vegas strip for years, raking in millions with illusions as big as Burt's growing ego. But lately the duo's greatest deception is their public friendship, while secretly they've grown to loathe each other. Facing cutthroat competition from guerilla street magician Steve Gray (Jim Carrey), whose cult following surges with each outrageous stunt, even their show looks stale. But there's still a chance Burt and Anton can save the act-both onstage and off-if Burt can get back in touch with what made him love magic in the first place. Dove Worldview:
As a child I performed magic so I was excited to go to this film especially with the star power involved. Unfortunately, Jim Carrey isn't a magician, he is a performance artist (if you can call it that). This is a spoof of magicians in general and not a good one. The audience laughed or chuckled a few times, groaned a few more at the bad taste displayed by all. The language was profane and the illusions gross.
The moral of the story is that we need to regenerate ourselves every once in a while but must also remember why we did the things we loved doing in the first place. Lofty goals for sure but the content of this film will be remembered far longer than the lessons learned. We do not consider this to be a family film and therefore cannot recommend you go to this show.
