Dove Worldview:
This 10 part mini-series is a must-see epic of Biblical proportion. It is a wonderful testament to the enduring power of the Holy Bible, and the importance it plays in the history and eternal destiny of mankind.

No one has ever before attempted to capture such a comprehensive collection of epic stories into one series. The skills and dedication of the entire cast and crew under the guiding hands of Mark Burnett and Roma Downey, and directed by Crispin Reece, Christopher Spencer, and Tony Mitchell are unmatched.

The first 5 hours bring to life Old Testament stores of Adam and Eve, Cain and Able, Noah and the Ark, Abraham and Sarah, Lot and his family, Moses leading the Israelites' out from Egypt, Rahab and the twelve spies, Samson and Delilah, Kings Saul and David, Daniel in Babylon and the profit Jeremiah.

The second 5 hours are dedicated to New Testament stories and feature the life of Jesus from His birth in Nazareth to his crucifixion, resurrection and ascension into Heaven, which coincidentally airs on Easter Sunday, March 31st. 2013 on The History Channel

Other memorable stories include Jesus and Peter walking on water, the feeding of the five thousand, and the Sermon on the Mount. We see the disciples praying in the Upper Room on the day of Pentecost and receiving the promise of the Holy Spirit and speaking in tongues. The raising of Lazarus from the dead is also portrayed. The story of Saul's conversion on the road to Damascus is depicted, and his anointing by God as Paul, the apostle. The series ends with John on the Isle of Patmos and the vision he describes in the book of Revelation.

This is a terrific collection of historical stories with a huge cast and solid special effects. It was refreshing to see angels dressed as mighty warriors instead of the stereotypical white robes and wings. Due to the graphic nature of many scenes, we are awarding "The Bible" the Dove "Faith-Based" Seal with a caution for violence which means it contains a powerful faith message in spite of some strong content.
