Synopsis:
The Genesis Code explores the relationship between faith and science, in the midst of a story of two college students. Kelsey and Logan play our two primary leads. Kerry is a college journalist seeking an interview with Blake, the college's newest and very popular hockey star. They start a relationship that is challenged by Blake's mothers' illness and impending removal from life support, academic pressures and how the tall correlates with their faith. Blake and Kerry both struggle with reconciling their scientific studies with what's taught in the Bible. Is the six day story of Genesis true or is what science teaches us about creation true? The Genesis Code explores the idea that perhaps they are both true and science has "caught up with" the truth of the Bible.

Dove Worldview:
Blake is the local star hockey player. A young Christian woman named Kerry requests an interview for the school paper. They wind up talking about God and Kerry learns that Blake has some doubts about the reality of God, and especially the Biblical account of Creation. Soon the viewer learns that Blake's dad died when Blake was quite young and he has been dealing with his feelings of grief and loss ever since.Blake is attracted to Kerry. Kerry, on the other hand uses their relationship to guide Blake toward a relationship with God. Her pastor/father presents a compelling scenario to explain how science and the Bible can coexist and still explain the mysteries of the universe. Kerry takes on her science professor who teaches Darwin's theories of evolution. One of the foremost arguments over the truth of scriptures is the dispute about the earth's age. Did the creation of the earth and skies and animals and man, really take place in six days as related in Genesis, or was it over a period of billions of years? The scientific theories become a bit weighty for the average viewer, but in the end, the film makes its point clear that the Bible and Science are not necessarily at odds. When Kerry and her father encourage Blake regarding his mother's illness and the possibility of her being taken off life support, a miracle occurs which results in a very nice ending to the story. We highly recommend this quality production and believe that many viewers will walk away extremely pleased after viewing this film.

This is a fantastic movie! Amazing graphics are used to tell the story of the Creation based on what scientists and theologians refer to as the Genesis Code. The acting is superb and indeed this film features a few veteran actors like Fred Thompson, Ernest Borgnine, Catherine Hicks, Rance Howard, Susan Blakely and Ben Murphy. The story is well told and the younger actors do an awesome job as well.

We are pleased to award our Dove "Family-Approved" Seal to this movie.
